That stacks up to almost a century of experience, years during which the company that operates in Lisse has built up a solid name for reliability in the ornamental plant sector. We have 125 members of staff who deliver whatever you require with great enthusiasm and professionalism. Our good name is important to us and as such we attach great importance to looking after our customers’ interests in the best possible way. Over the years Hobaho has developed considerable strength as an auctioneer of bulbs. With extensive experience in the ornamental plant sector behind us, we are able to offer a comprehensive range of services but our main focus is on the business units: Intermediary Services, Cooling & Preparation Services and Associated Services. Intermediary Services: our intermediaries not only bring demand and supply together on a daily basis; they also give advice and arrange professional support to customers. Cooling and Preparation Services: Hobaho knows everything there is to know about how to arrange the correct temperature treatment for your product. In addition we also offer a comprehensive range of services relating the processing and storing of ornamental plant products. Associated Services: our additional services are tailored to keep abreast of recent developments in the ornamental plant sector. Core activities are: Coordination of cooperative activities such as growers associations; Management of licences for varieties protected by plant breeders’ rights; Improvement activities and new varieties. From auctioneering to modern services The foundations for what is now Hobaho were laid in 1921 when auction managers Homan, Bader and Hogewoning (HOBAHO) decided to pool their capabilities to establish Hollands Bloembollenhuis N.V. From that point on mediation between demand and supply from was effected via the auction clock. Meanwhile the auction aspect has been consigned to history. Hobaho has moved with the times and aims do deliver the highest standard in the services they deliver because the customer’s interests always come first. Since 1999 FloraHolland has had a 100% shareholding in Hobaho. Our collaboration makes it possible to share knowledge, experience and expertise to the ultimate benefit of the client.
